A two week period of our lives we won’t soon forget even though there a some days in the beginning that Nancy won’t remember. I have new found awe for the brain and the heart and the way we humans tick. Also thankful for all the medical advances that kept my beautiful bride alive. Not to mention her amazing caregivers.
Nancy will do some outpatient cardiac rehab and, naturally, we have a few follow-up appointments in the coming weeks. The doctor who discharged Nancy today encouraged her to get back to her normal life and activities as soon as she is able. Amazing.
Thank you all for your written support. It means a lot to me; I know it means even more to Nancy.

I have come late to this miraculous story. On 8/13, Carol told me what had happened, but I didn’t know there was a wonderful Caring Bridge site. I was holding you both in huge light and love, sending energy, but waited a few days to email not wanting to be intrusive, and thank you, Stephanie, for your response directing me here. I am in tears reading all of this. Nancy, Nancy, sweet sweet Nancy. Praise All That Is Good that your shining spirit is healing your wonderful body. I am filled with gratitude, love, and awe. Continuing to hold you both in prayer and healing light. And sending much much love.

So glad to hear you’re home and doing well. Been sending prayers and wanting to let you know that recovery takes a while. ICD’s are a great invention and I am grateful for mine regularly, but 5 years ago I did wonder how long it would take for myself and family to move on to a new normal. Enjoy being alive , you get there. So you know, I am one of Dorothy Graham Ellertson’s daughters and one of your Uncle Rod ‘s stepdaughters. Remember you when you were just a kid. Glad you are getting better and have loved ones to care for you.
